We went to Keystone Saturday and saw two stages of the Big Mountain Enduro. After tasking myself with the goal of getting one decent shot of each of Eric’s friends, I succeeded (sort of). Check out my best shots of the boys, plus a few more.
We started out by setting up shop at the corkscrew, only to get booted from our sweet vantage point just prior to the start
We saw a couple riders come through on practice runs before moving
After the depressing realization that we forgot ALL THREE cowbells, the ingenious team manager discovered a free cowbell app in which he had to (of course) shake the phone to make it ring. He was pretty excited.
Upon arrival in our new location, we discovered the photo angles weren’t too bad. Especially when you shoot from the same spot as the professional photographers (after they’ve moved on, of course). This one (sort of) shows how steep it really was.
I thought this was the sweet spot since I could get three shots of them each — my plan was foiled by not accounting for all the Team Rude Boy fans taking photos in the background. This one is Kyle
Curtis (pictured) came through right after Kyle, so again, the best shot I got includes the Team Rude Boy groupies in the background. What pretty colors on that bicycle
After I figured things out, I got even better photos of Jeff (pictured) and Nate (next photo).
Same spot, another great shot. This time Nate.
When we moved on to Stage 3, I again followed in the footsteps of the professional photographers and there got a couple of my favorites, including this one.
Just hanging back and waiting on the boys
I only had one shot for each of the boys in this spot. So the first couple aren’t quite right, the second two are better timing. This is Kyle
Next up Curtis
Nate shortly after
And then Jeff
I still need some work on the photography front but it’s definitely getting better. Strong work and strong finishes from Team Rude Boy and that handsome team manager.
